A MINIMALIST WEDDING WITH STYLE, SOUL AND INDUSTRIAL VIBES
I use to say that Weddings don´t need bells and whistles - they just need to speak for themselves. And as a Porto wedding photographer, this alternative wedding at Cais Novo was one I won’t forget.
Verónica and Ricardo’s day was minimalist, emotional, and full of intention — a celebration that stayed true to their style and didn’t follow any formula.
Right in the heart of the city, Cais Novo brought together industrial character and raw beauty, creating the perfect setting for a couple who didn’t want a traditional wedding — they wanted something real.
Verónica got ready at Porto Palácio Hotel — a sleek, modern space with calm energy. The morning was slow, intentional, and quiet. Natural light poured through the windows as she moved through the room, relaxed but focused. Her look was effortless, bold, and clean. A true fashion bride with a strong sense of self. As someone in the fashion world, she knew exactly what she wanted — and it showed. No trends, no pressure. Just presence.
That’s exactly the kind of energy we connect with as a destination wedding photographer and videographer duo. Our job is to read the room, feel the pace of the day, and follow it — not force it.
The wedding ceremony took place at Cais Novo, a venue with exposed stone walls, metal beams, and stunning natural textures. It’s one of the most interesting spaces for alternative weddings in Portugal — and one of our personal favorites in Porto. The ceremony itself was full of meaning. Surrounded by close family and friends, Verónica and Ricardo exchanged vows in a space that needed no extra dressing. It was raw, honest, and beautiful.
The wedding decor, curated by the incredible team at S.P.O.T., followed the couple’s minimalist vision. Nothing was overdone — every detail had a purpose. The tables were set simply and beautifully, blending with the architecture of the space instead of competing with it. If you’re looking for wedding inspiration that embraces less-is-more, this is it.
One of the highlights of the day was the atmosphere. You could feel it — warm, grounded, and real.
Among the guests was actress Sara Prata (aka “Becas” from Morangos com Açúcar), blending in with friends and family, adding to the authenticity of it all.
Dinner was served by Bicho Papão, a local favorite known for doing things differently. Their dishes were thoughtful, flavorful, and plated in a way that felt effortless — perfect for a wedding like this. The experience felt like being at a creative dinner party, not a formal event. That intimacy is what we love most about destination weddings.
As a Portugal wedding photographer and videographer, moments like these are where we thrive — in spaces that allow for emotion, movement, and natural storytelling. This is where wedding photography and wedding videography become something more — not just coverage, but connection.
Every look, every laugh, every shadow across the stone walls became a frame worth capturing. Whether it was Verónica fixing her dress in the mirror or Ricardo clinking glasses with his friends, it all felt intentional. That’s what we chase — the unscripted, the honest, the human.
If you’re planning a wedding in Portugal — whether in Porto, Lisbon, or along the cliffs of the Algarve — and you want a photographer and videographer who gets that vibe, we’d love to be there. We’re a Portugal wedding videographer and photographer team focused on connection over perfection, story over style.
Because the truth is, weddings like this aren’t about doing what’s expected. They’re about creating something that feels like you.
